Svetlana Spajić  is at the moment undoubtedly the most important performer of Serbian traditional music that works in the region and wider. Her efforts to find, preserve, and transmit to future generations traditional songs from these areas are even more important when we take into consideration that Svetlana is an uncompromising performer. She learned from the best village local singers and sang with some of the best traditional singers in the world, such as Hronis Aidonidis, Domna Samiou, Yanka Rupkina, Bokan Stankovic. She collaborated with artists such as Marina Abramović, Robert Wilson, Antony Hegarty, William Basinski, Reinhold Friedl. Svetlana Spajić performed and gave lecturesin Concertgebouw -Amsterdam, Wiener Konzerthaus, MoMA (New York), MOCA (L.A.) Jad Vashem Institute (Jerusalem), Grotowski Institute (Wroclaw) and etc. Since 2010 she has been a part of Robert Wilson’s visionary opera The Life and Death of Marina Abramović, as a composer, lyricist and a performer.
